DMTF’s annual summer event – 2020 Alliance Partner Technical Symposium (APTS) – looked a little different this year. APTS 2020 was held virtually via Zoom! While we certainly missed the face-to-face interaction that APTS affords us, the virtual event was deemed a success.
Led by DMTF’s Vice President of Alliances, John Leung, the annual event featured collaborative working group meetings and focused on technical topics of interest to DMTF’s Alliance Partners, as well as keynote addresses from Compute Express Link™ (CXL™) Consortium, Storage Networking Industry Alliance (SNIA), and The Open Group - Open Process Automation™ Forum.
Compute Express Link™ (CXL™) Consortium kicked off the event with the first keynote of the week. This session, presented by Kurt Lender, discussed how CXL supports dynamic multiplexing between a rich set of protocols that includes I/O (CLX.io, based on PCIe®), caching (CXL.cache), and memory (CXL.mem) semantics.
SNIA's keynote was presented by Richelle Ahlvers and Mark Carlson on Wednesday where they provided an overview of current SNIA activities, the work between SNIA, DMTF, and the NVM Express, and more.
And last but not least, The Open Group – Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF) keynote session was presented by Craig Griffin on the final day of APTS. Craig provided an overview of OPAF, Open Process Automation Standard (O-PAS) standard, and the role of Redfish.
